Why Repack Sprites into Power-of-Two Grids?

Modern game engines (Roblox, Godot, Unity, Unreal) use hardware texture compression that requires or heavily favors power-of-two (POT) textures (e.g. 512×512, 1024×1024, 2048×2048). Irregular animation strips cause VRAM fragmentation, blurriness, and subpixel bleeding.

Roblox ImageRectOffset

Roblox ImageLabel and ImageButton components use ImageRectOffset and ImageRectSize to display animation frames from a single spritesheet. Repacking strips into square grids avoids Roblox's texture downsampling limits.

1px Edge Bleed Elimination

When 3D cameras move or zoom, bilinear filtering samples neighboring pixels. Without 1px edge extrusion, adjacent frames bleed into each other creating ugly dark lines or ghost artifacts.

Godot 4 & Unity Integration

Export standard Rect2 or UV coordinates directly into GDScript or Unity C# components, saving hours of manual coordinate math.
